A Double Dip Looming?
The media have always excelled in scare mongering, I suppose it sells newspapers and ensures we stay tuned in to the news programs, but is a double dip in house prices really looming as  suggested ?  No, certainly July was quieter than the earlier part of the year, but then there was a lot going on – with the World Cup, Wimbledon and a budget which was not half as bad as everyone expected and this was coupled with one of the best month’s weather in decades ! All in all enough to keep everyone occupied without having to worry about moving home, so perhaps, not surprisingly, it was quieter.  Already August has been a far busier month, despite what seems like half the country being on holiday. In the first few days we have agreed more sales than during the entire month of July and since the welcomed suspension of HIPs, purchasers now have a far wide choice of properties. 
So my advice is enjoy the remainder of the summer and if you’re thinking of moving now is as good a time as any.
